“We wanted to create an expo experience with a difference,” says Lauren Pybus, Euphoria Telecom’s Marketing Manager and Creative Director. “The tech space is generally sleek and glossy, but it can feel quite clinical. This being our first time at Africa Tech Fest, we chose a lighthearted, humorous approach – and it paid off.”
Euphoria Telecom debuted at Africa Tech Festival 2024 with an exhibit that stood out for its creativity, humor, and ability to connect people. Situated in Hall 6 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), the Euphoria stand was positioned opposite Meta and just behind Zoho, ensuring plenty of foot traffic and interaction over the three days.
A highlight of the stand was the popular “Happy Hour” bar, where attendees could connect over phone-themed cocktails. The bar was a hit but the real star of the show was Miles, Euphoria’s remote-controlled office phone on wheels. Designed to showcase the power and mobility of South Africa’s leading all-in-one VoIP system for businesses, Miles quickly became a festival favorite.
“Miles is the centrepiece of our upcoming online ad campaign, launching in January 2025 so it was great to see that the people who ‘met’ him, loved him as much as we do,” Pybus says.
This blend of innovation and playfulness captures the essence of Euphoria’s brand, and really resonated with attendees. It’s safe to say that the team’s Africa Tech Festival debut was a success, and they’re already planning their return for 2025.
“We’re not sure how we’ll top this year,” says Pybus, “but that’s an exciting challenge. With a year to plan, we’re confident that our next exhibit will be even bigger and better. We can’t wait to see everyone again next year!”
