On 4 September, Euphoria Telecom celebrated a major milestone – 15 years in business – with an unforgettable evening at the beautiful Victoria Cocktail Lounge in Camps Bay.

Established in 2010, Euphoria has grown from a bold idea into South Africa’s most loved VoIP for Business brand, proudly serving 6,000+ customers. This birthday celebration was our way of saying thank you to the incredible customers, suppliers, friends, and fans who’ve been part of our journey.

A Night to Remember

We wanted this to be more than just a birthday party – it had to be something truly special.

“We couldn’t think of a better person to bring the fun than Darren ‘Whackhead’ Simpson,” says Lauren Pybus, Euphoria Telecom’s Marketing Manager and Creative Director.

“He’s the king of prank calls, and his unique brand of humour fit perfectly with what we wanted to create for our guests.”

To make the night extra memorable, we built a custom prank call booth just for Darren. Guests could submit friends or family members for Darren to prank live during the event. The laughter was contagious as guests heard their loved ones caught in hilarious setups.

Earlier in the day, Darren also took to the Camps Bay Promenade with Miles – our quirky mascot and fully functional business phone on wheels – to prank unsuspecting beachgoers. Celebratory prizes were given out to anyone brave enough to answer the call.

The night wrapped up with a lively Q&A session with Darren, where he shared behind-the-scenes stories and engaged with guests one-on-one.

Celebrating the Campaign That Started It All

Two years ago, Euphoria set out to demonstrate the power of our industry-leading mobile app in a way people couldn’t forget. The result? Miles, a business phone turned into a remote-controlled car that actually makes and receives calls.

The campaign showcased how Euphoria allows teams to:

  • Take their office extensions anywhere,
  • Make and receive calls from the office phone system for less than standard mobile rates,
  • Stay flexible without being tied into long-term contracts.

Since then, we’ve produced 20+ TV-style ads featuring Miles – shot across South Africa, Namibia, the UK, and Germany – to prove that with Euphoria, business communication truly knows no boundaries.

This 15th birthday celebration was the perfect culmination of our Set Your Office Phone Free campaign.

“Seeing Darren and Miles in action together brought the whole concept full circle and created a true highlight for the brand,” says Lauren.

An Evening Full of Themed Fun

No Euphoria event would be complete without a little creativity:

  • Guests enjoyed custom cocktails like Lord of the Ring Rings and Game of Phones,
  • A 100+ song Spotify playlist filled the venue with tracks all about calls, phones, and connection – our Ultimate Office Phone Zone Playlist, perfect for office parties or just getting through the workday,
  • Incredible food and a relaxed, celebratory atmosphere set the stage for reflecting on how far Euphoria has come – and where we’re headed next.

The evening truly embodied the theme for the night: “Dialling is smiling.”

Launching the No Bull Prize

The night wasn’t just about looking back – it was also about looking forward.

With Darren’s help, we officially launched the No Bull Prize, a national campaign where anyone can nominate a business that operates ethically and fairly. The winning business will receive a cash prize to help them grow and continue doing great work.

This initiative reflects the very values Euphoria was built on: integrity, fairness, and five-star customer service. It’s our way of shining a spotlight on other businesses making a positive impact.
