Euphoria Telecom: empowering communities through CSI

Euphoria believes in living its company values, and we select CSI initiatives that align with these values under the pillars of wellness and community development. Fostering connection is at the core of what we do and has been integral to our long-standing partnerships with TokaiMTB, the Overberg BMX Club and Reach For Recovery.

CSI isn’t just a box ticking exercise for the Euphoria family. Instead the company’s believe in doing CSI differently. This approach extends beyond donating funds to select NGOs (although that is important). Euphoria’s agile in-house marketing team, spearheaded by award-winning Creative Director Lauren Pybus, also provides the charitable organisations with time, skills and creative resources. All three of the video projects outlined below were ideated by Euphoria’s team with the goal of raising awareness and funds for the communities and causes involved.

TokaiMTB

Euphoria has been partnering with TokaiMTB for over five years, contributing to the maintenance of the beloved Vasbyt Trail. This sponsorship was later extended into a CSI initiative that supports the safety of riders. Euphoria sponsors the switchboard and hosting of the TokaiMTB emergency number which can be used throughout the park. Riders who are injured, become sick, or feel unsafe can call  0870 590 000 and appropriate assistance will be dispatched to them immediately.

“Many of our Euphoria team and customers are mountain bike enthusiasts which is how our partnership with TokaiMTB was originally born. The safety of people using the trails is of great concern to us, and the emergency number allows people to use them, safe in the knowledge that help is a phone call away,” says Pybus.

Euphoria is committed to making a difference where it operates and its CSI commitments are carefully selected to encourage deeper social connections and build stronger communities. “These long-standing partnerships are born out of this commitment, and a desire to create connections and contribute to the health, safety and wellness of the communities we are in,” Pybus concludes.

Overberg BMX Club

Euphoria began its partnership with the Overberg BMX Club in 2021, contributing to track maintenance, signage and fundraising efforts.

Seeing the work that Overberg BMX Club does in empowering young people from impoverished communities, and imparting valuable lessons about community, sportsmanship and perseverance made us want to get involved immediately,” Pybus says.

The club provides a safe space where people from across Hermanus can take part in a fun, healthy activity together-no matter their age or background. It’s also making the sport accessible to youngsters who might not otherwise be able to take part by loaning them bikes and providing free coaching clinics. Euphoria Telecom has sponsored a shipping container to store bikes and maintenance equipment. In the future, this container will form part of a planned clubhouse, where people can kick back and have some fun together, further adding to Overberg BMX’s strong community vibe.

Reach for Recovery

For the second year, Euphoria is partnering with Reach For Recovery on the Remember To Think Pink campaign to help raise awareness of the importance of getting breast cancer exams.

This campaign places giant, pink sticky notes in places where women gather to remind them to “make the smart call” and get checked. It runs alongside videos and social media content which were created by Euphoria’s own agile in-house marketing team.

“Early detection of breast cancer is life saving. So working with Reach for Recovery to encourage more women to get checked is something we are immensely proud and honoured to do,” says Pybus.
